The Drought of August

August has arrived, 

The earth has become dry, 

The leaves have wilted, 

The flowers have fallen.

The sun shines brightly, 

The wind blows fiercely, 

The earth is arid, 

The animals are searching for water.

Humans also begin to feel the difficulty, Their plants cannot grow, 

Their water cannot be drunk, 

They must find a way to survive.

The drought is a test for us all, 

We must be patient and steadfast, 

We must keep trying, 

And we must pray, 

For the rain to come soon, 

And for the earth to become wet again.

The drought is also a reminder for us, 

To be more wise in our use of water, 

We must conserve water, 

And we must use water sparingly, 

So that water is always available to us all.
